Contemporary artist Gemma Compton mixes urban style with the beauty of nature for a distinctive and utterly breathtaking aesthetic. Using shimmering strips of gold leaf, Compton has sectioned the piece into nine boxes, each one containing vivid flowers, fluttering birds, and delicate butterflies in bold tones of blue against white. In amongst the flora and fauna, Compton has sketched feminine features, from pouting lips, to big, beautiful eyes, which merge seamlessly with the scenes of nature to create a striking work of contemporary art.
